Job Summary
This is food services
work assisting in the preparation and service of food within the School
District of Philadelphia facilities. Employees in this class are
responsible for assembling sandwiches, preparing salads and desserts, and
serving food. Work involves cleaning food preparation and/or service
areas, and maintaining an accurate count of items produced and sold. Work
may additionally involve grilling food, slicing meats, and/or cashiering in a
cafeteria.
The food service
worker operates a compliant Point of Service (POS) and POS computer
system/terminal. Work is performed under the general direction of a Food
Services Manager or Food Services Worker III.
