Reports To: Food Services Manager/Field Supervisor
Job Summary
The Food Service Worker III performs general food preparation work at the supervisory level, under the general direction of a Food Service Field Supervisor.
Essential Functions
• Supervises a crew of food services workers; determines work assignments, work methods and production goals; reviews work in progress. • Prepares and cooks the daily breakfast, lunch and after school meals following prescribed menus and standardized recipes. • Portions and serves food to children and adults. • Orders food, produce and supplies using automated ordering system; records market quotations and other ordering information as required; receives deliveries and checks the accuracy of delivery slips; maintains records of deliveries and prepares a weekly invoice record of orders received; takes a monthly inventory of food and supplies on hand and maintains a perpetual inventory system. • Sorts and counts bills and coins received daily; prepares a daily deposit slip and weekly cash card listing amounts of money deposited and amounts on hand. • Prepares weekly operations, monthly milk and platter, and time and attendance reports. • May clean service or preparation areas. • Removes trash from kitchen area. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques. • Knowledge of the health and sanitation aspects of food handling and preparation. • Ability to learn to use and care for equipment used in food preparation and service. • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations. • Ability to maintain personal cleanliness. • Ability to read, write and count accurately. • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates, students and staff. • Operate Compliant Point of Service and Point of Service Computer Terminal and/or roster. Minimum Requirements
• Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth school grade. • Three years of full-time, paid food services experience performing large scale cooking using standardized recipes *IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, YOU MUST PROVIDE DETAILS OF EXPERIENCE ON YOUR APPLICATION. -OR- • Have completed one year full-time paid experience as a Food Service Worker II with SDP -OR- • Have successfully completed the following accredited college level coursework: ? Introduction to School Food Service; and ? Principles of Quantity Food Production; and ? Human Resource Management in Food Service Operations; and ? ServeSafe Sanitation Program *IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, YOU MUST ATTACH A COPY OF YOUR COURSEWORK, TRANSCRIPT AND SERVESAFE CERTIFICATE TO YOUR APPLICATION.
