The School District of Philadelphia seeks a Specialist of Student Enrollment to assess current trends in student enrollment and create future projections. The Specialist will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to verify current student enrollment and perform statistical analysis to understand future enrollment.
Essential Functions
Continuously review and assess student enrollment status across different sectors, e.g., District students, charter students, students placed in alternative settings, etc.
Project future student enrollment through statistical analysis
Support the enrollment timeline and process across the District
Engage in school expansion, contraction, grade configuration, boundary changes, and other discussions related to school changes with the Offices of Grade & Space and Capital Programs
Collaborate with the Office of Student Placement on school selection timelines
Collaborate with the Office of Early Childhood Education on Kindergarten enrollment timeline and selection
Partner with District schools to review and verify enrollment
Collaborate with the Departments of Human Services and of Public Health and other relevant agencies to gain information on housing developments, birth rates, and other shifts / developments to inform student enrollment projections
Verify and reconcile current student enrollment across the District and in charters, cyber charters, and other outside entities to support payment function in the Office of Special Finance
Work with the Office of Truancy to determine student placement trends
Perform related duties as required

Prioritize tasks, assess progress, follow through on the execution of plans on multiple, concurrent projects, and meet deadlines with urgency

Exceptional communication skills
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated experience with statistical software, including SAS, Stata, and/or SPSS;
Demonstrated experience with flow charts, Excel spreadsheets, and CSV files
Demonstrated experience with Arc GIS mapping (preferred)
Minimum Requirements
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a strong understanding in statistics and/or demography; AND
Two or more years of full-time, paid, professional experience, preferably in data analysis
OR
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a strong understanding in urban/school planning and/or demography
OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent

anecdotal record on file and have not been subject to any disciplinary
action within the past eighteen (18) months, and have an excellent
record of attendance and punctuality during the last three (3) years

for personal illness in the last three years (3) years with the
exception of one extended long-term absence).
