SUMMARY: Repair and maintain all district vehicles and equipment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. Diagnoses and repair all types of vehicles and equipment.
2. Performing preventative maintenance inspections and assist with state inspections.
3. Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults.
4. Diesel engine, gasoline engine and transmission repairs.
5. Responding to roadside repairs and service calls.
6. Perform data entry of work orders in Fleet software system.
7. Fabricating or repairing with all types of welding equipment.
8. Perform computer data scans on vehicles.
9. Perform minor body repair.
10. Assist drivers with operations of vehicles.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
? High school diploma or equivalent.
? More than two years of experience in vehicle maintenance repairs including automotive, medium/heavy duty vehicles.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
? Criminal background check required for hire.
? Must be insurable through the District?s Self Insurance Pool.
? Colorado Commercial driver?s license (CDL) with P2 endorsement required within one month after entering position.
? CDE inspector qualification certificate preferred after one year.
? ASE School Bus Air Brake Certificate preferred after one year.
Salary placement on our Classified Salary schedule is dependent on the
Grade for the position being posted and employees’ previous work experience.
“Grade” refers to position or job classification and “Step” refers to number of
work experience credit or service years. Initial placement will be at the Grade
for the position step 1.
BENEFITS INFORMATION:
Employees regularly
scheduled to work twenty (20) hours per week or more are eligible to receive
the district contribution towards insurance benefits as defined in the
Classified Master Agreement Article 11.3, 11.4, and 11.5 and are eligible for
benefits described within this article. Employees regularly scheduled to work
less than twenty (20) hours per week, or employees whose employment is
temporary, are not eligible for benefits described within this article. Please refer to the Classified Master
Agreement for more information.
