Job Description
Responsible for instructing students in elementary grades K-6. Creates lesson plans, instructs students on core subjects such as science, literature, and math, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District's Core Curriculum.  Create instructional resources for use in the classroom. 

Essential Functions:
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities
Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
Participate in ongoing training sessions.
Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.
Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning. 
Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Prepare and distribute parent communications. 
Observe and evaluate student's performance.
Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies.

Qualifications
1. Must hold a valid Colorado teaching license or authorization.
2. Must meet content-area qualifications, which could include the appropriate license endorsement, degree in the content area, Colorado State Board of Education-approved content exam, or 36 credit hours as determined by the district.
 
Additional Information

Plan standards based rigorous and authentic lessons that are differentiated and use best practices.

   Participate in RTI process, setting goals with students, develop action steps, adjusting instruction and interventions, and monitoring goals.

  Submit weekly student work and teacher exemplar responses that are standards-aligned and sorted for proficiency.

    Engage in weekly vertical team meetings to analyze student work, reflect on instructional practice, develop re-teach plans, and role play before executing lessons.

  Engage in weekly observation and feedback cycle with Principal and Instructional Coach in which teacher is observed, receives real-time feedback, reflects on their practice, sets action steps, plans, practices, and implements new action step.

 Participate in weekly whole group professional learning and quickly implement new strategies into practice.
