Position Overview

The Student Services Lead Teacher plays a critical role in the academic success of all students in the school. The Student Services Lead Teacher ensures students with diverse learning needs (e.g. Special Education and MTSS) are being served appropriately. This includes instruction, robust data management coordination, scheduling coordination, testing coordination, overseeing relevant paperwork and flow of information, and communication with parents/guardians.  It is estimated that the person in this role will spend roughly 50% of the time on special education, 30% of the time on MTSS, and 20% of the time on test coordination.

The successful candidate whole-heartedly believes that all students can learn and demonstrates this by engaging in principles of distributed leadership.  They relentlessly pursue student growth and achievement through diligent planning, careful execution, and on-going collaboration with colleagues and the school leadership team.

 

An advocate for students and parents, the Student Services Lead Teacher must be able to handle high-stress situations with ease, exhibit superior organizational skills, and have the ability to problem solve and multi-task.

Physical Demands

Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.  Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files.  Physically demands require the ability to stand, bend, reach high and low, stoop, walk around the classroom and kneel upwards of 60% of the day.  In addition, walking up and down stairs several times a day.  Must be able to lift 15 to 20 pounds for short periods of time and push and pull 15 to 20 lbs. 

Working Conditions

Majority of work performed in a general office environment.  Position requires availability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties.  Also requires participation and attendance at organization-sponsored events and meetings.
