Job Description

Assists with the identification, screening and matching of school-based partnerships and volunteer resources providing services/programs to school communities in alignment with the priorities of Action Plan 3.0.  The Partnership Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of school-based partnerships and volunteer projects initiated by external partners including city, state and philanthropic funded programs. Position activities include being a central point of contact to both principals, partners, and volunteer networks; working to strengthen and build school-level partnerships; and solving common issues that arise from school partnerships and volunteer projects.  The Partnership Coordinator will also be responsible for tracking and reporting volunteer and partnerships initiatives developed across the entire District portfolio. 


Essential Functions
  • Works as a key team member in Office of Strategic Partnerships; participates in the design and implementation of all aspects of building out the functional responsibilities of the office
  • Works on special projects related to the building of the Office of Strategic Partnerships, including volunteer infrastructure
  • Has specific focus on building and strengthening the network of partnerships with key funding agencies which support school-based activities and volunteer service networks (i.e., anchor institutions, Greater Philadelphia Corporate Volunteer Council, and colleges and universities)
  • Building relationships with providers and provider networks while working to educate them about various school policies, procedures, opportunities and best practices
  • Responding to schools, providers, and volunteer service organizations to solve common school-level issues that arise
  • Executing various MOUs between providers and schools for school-based partnerships
  • Identifying and supporting providers by setting up specific District-led professional development opportunities for providers and trainings for large volunteer cohorts
  • Maintaining current lists of school-based partners through the Office’s data collection system  (e.g., type of program, number served, funding source, etc.) and large-scale volunteer projects
  • Participating in collaborative cross-sector communities that advance the issue of partnership and corporate volunteerism cross the City  
  • Development of monthly quantitative and qualitative reports documenting partnership and volunteers activities across the network of schools and the central office
  • Other duties as assigned                                                              
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • The principles, practices and philosophy of public school administration and management.
  • Networking and creating connections between various partners and stakeholders.
  • Administrative and business management principles and practices.
  • The principles and techniques of organizational planning, development and analysis.
  • The various functions commonly found in a school district office, including comprehension of guiding rules and regulations as well as a strong understanding of school based programing throughout the district.
  • Budgeting and the associated record keeping.
  • Supervisory methods and techniques.
Demonstrated ability to:
  • Plan, direct and coordinate the activities of multiple functional areas.
  • Plan new or revise existing Office of Strategic Partnerships programs in response to the changing needs and priorities of the District.
  • Establish an effective communication system between the Office of Strategic Partnerships and the balance of the District.
  • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Additional Information
Salary Range $49,749 - $62,212

Selection Process
Selected candidates will participate in an interview process.  Please note that not all qualified candidates may be selected for an interview. The selected candidate must have no anecdotal record on file and have not been subject to any disciplinary action within the past eighteen (18) months, and have an excellent record of attendance and punctuality during the last three (3) years (defined as no more than eighteen (18) occasions of lateness or absence for personal illness in the last three years (3) years with the exception of one extended long-term absence).
